Street art money, commercial and popularity

Today I want to highlight Street art and the use hereof.

In my book of life street art belongs on the streets and is fulfilled in the streets - it can be prepared somewhere else, such as stencil cutting, drawing pasteups, figurines made of various materials (plaster, plastic, clay, fabric, porcelain you name it)... and while we are at it - would you consider mass production of posters for paste-up as art, or branding af art? which is similar to tagging, stickers or making the same stencil over and over again... the art can be to place the paste-up in a way so it will talk to the other things on the wall - or create a different meaning from time to time... and now I really have to be careful - as I ask you the question - what and when is it street art?

The last year I have seen som real crap to be honest - young guys and girls - teenagers who still go to school and still have hormonal disturbances and care more about meaningless things than the stuff they actually do - like finding a roll of stickers and try to draw something on them and stick them up places in the city where other people get annoyed - this is destroying it for the good artists!

But then again - when is it art and when not - a very good question - as art is something that awakens emotions and those vary from person to person - is writing "pussy" on the wall on a house art? Well is it? I know a danish artist who have sold (at very high prices) a lot of art with a canvas where the word "pussy" or similar just was written on, he's even in the national gallery! So is "pussy" written on a street wall art? hard to say - if you ask me it's NOT!

Just to return to destroying street art - in the latest years marketing comapnies and media comapnies have tried to market different kinds of product by using street art techniques....STOP IT - It doesnt work like you want it to work - and you destroy it for us... really bad campaigns are the A-team who made stencil commercials in Berlin, the movie "R" in denmark with stickes on poles in the street and the band "Fler farver" with a similar - people think it's meant as art - but get really pissed to see it all over town - DONT brand yourself like this! Or at least be genius or artistic! Or else you are no more than ols school graffiti taggers...

I think I will do a follow up on this or a rewrite... I'm not really getting the essence of what I want - or do you get it? What is your idea of street art?
